Gophers in the Pros: Week Eight

Marion Barber III ran for his second touchdown of the season for Dallas, Stylez White had a big game defensively for the Buccaneers and Matt Spaeth had a pair of receptions for the Steelers to highlight former Gophers' efforts in week eight of the NFL regular season.
- Barber III, Marion - RB - Dallas Cowboys
Barber had nine carries for 16 yards and touchdown in the Cowboys' 35-17 loss to Jacksonville.
- White, Stylez G. - DE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
White collected his second sack of the season, along with four solo tackles in the Buccaneers' 38-35 win over Arizona.
- Spaeth, Matt - TE - Pittsburgh Steelers
Spaeth had two receptions for 21 yards as the Steelers fell to New Orleans 20-10.
- Laurence Maroney - RB - Denver Broncos
Maroney was active but did not record any statistics as the Bronco's fell to San Francisco 24-16.
- Decker, Eric - WR - Denver Broncos
Decker was active but did not record any statistics in Sunday's match-up.
- Hamilton, Ben - G - Seattle Seahawks
Hamilton continued to hold down the starting left guard position for Seattle as the Seahawks fell to Oakland 33-3.
- Spaeth, Matt - TE - Pittsburgh Steelers
Spaeth had two receptions for 21 yards as the Steelers fell to New Orleans 20-10.
- Barber, Dominique - S - Houston Texans
Barber had one tackle in the Texans' 30-17 loss to Indianapolis.
Besides having an impact in the NFL, a pair of former Gophers continue to play effectively in the Canadian Football League.
- Bruce III, Arland - WR - Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Bruce had one reception for 12 yards in Hamilton's 55-24 loss at Calgary.
- Middlebrooks, Willie - DB - Toronto Argonauts
Middlebrooks played but did not record any statistics as Toronto fell to Montreal 37-30.
In addition to those who were on active rosters, two former Gophers spent last weekend on the practice squad for their respective NFL teams. Marcus Sherels is on the practice squad for the Minnesota Vikings, and Traye Simmons is with the San Diego Chargers' practice squad. Meanwhile, Mark Setterstrom remains on the physically unable to perform list of the St. Louis Rams.
