Senior middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer (St. Paul, Minn.) received Co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors, along with Penn State's Blair Brown, on Monday, Nov. 1.

With the weekly honors, Gibbemeyer has now been named Big Ten Player of the Week four times in three different seasons. She collected the honors once in 2008 as a sophomore, twice in 2009 as a junior and once this season.

Gibbemeyer averaged 3.67 kps, 2.00 blps and hit .417 in a week where the Golden Gophers went 2-0 against Iowa and No. 24 Northwestern. She hit .556 with 11 kills, five digs and four blocks against the Hawkeyes on Oct. 27. Gibbemeyer followed that effort up with a double-double against the Wildcats, in which she had 14 kills and 10 blocks.

Minnesota joins Illinois as one of two teams in the Big Ten to have three different players named Big Ten Player of the Week. Tabi Love (Aug. 30) and Ashley Wittman (Sept. 13) are joined by Gibbemeyer as one of three Gophers to claim the honors in 2010. Minnesota has not had three different student-athletes named Big Ten Player of the week since 2003 when Cassie Busse, Erin Martin and Lindsey Taatjes all claimed the honors.
