GSS Highlights NCAA-Bound Ben Blankenship

Gopher Sports Spotlight caught up with senior Ben Blankenship as the Gophers head into the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday. Blankenship, a track All-American last spring, is coming off his best cross country races of his career; a third-place finish at the Big Ten Championships and a seventh-place showing at the NCAA Midwest Region Championships. Minnesota is making is 13th NCAA Championships appearance in 14 seasons.

A lighter side of the 2010 season has been the mustache craze around the nation. FloTrack has promoted the fun with their “Stashies for Nashies” campaign. Athletes and coaches are competing for the best mustache of the championships. GSS had to ask Ben if he thought his ‘stache was FloTrack worthy.
