Minnesota Ranked No. 15 in AVCA Poll

The Minnesota volleyball team moved up four spots to No. 15 in this week's AVCA Top 25 according to an announcement on Monday, Nov.22. The Gophers received 614 points in the top 25 poll this week.
With the No. 22 ranking, the Gophers have now been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 46 straight weeks dating back to the final poll in 2007. That extends Minnesota's record-breaking streak of consecutive weeks in the top 25.
Minnesota went 2-0 on the week with road wins over Wisconsin and No. 9 Illinois. In the match against the Illini, the Gophers faced match point four times in the fourth before battling back to win in five sets. Minnesota enters the week tied for third place in the Big Ten at 12-6 with Michigan.
The Gophers are joined by three Big Ten teams in the poll. Penn State is ranked No. 7, Illinois is No. 10 and Michigan is No. 19. Purdue (29), Northwestern (17) and Ohio State (14) are also receiving votes in the poll.
Minnesota will wrap up the regular-season against Ohio State and No. 7 Penn State this week. The Gophers will host the Buckeyes on Friday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. in a match that can be seen live in the Gold Zone. Minnesota will also face the Nittany Lions on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 8:30 p.m. That match can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.
