Gophers in the Pros: Week Nine

A pair of former Gopher defenders had four solo tackles as both Stylez White and Tyrone Carter played pivotal roles in their team's defense in week nine of the NFL regular season.

  •  Barber III, Marion - RB - Dallas Cowboys
     Barber had six carries for 19 yards in the Cowboys' 45-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
  • White, Stylez G. - DE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    White had four solo tackles, including one tackle for a loss, but the Buccaneers ultimately came up short against Atlanta, losing 27-21.
  • Carter, Tyrone - S - San Diego Chargers
    Carter had four solo tackles for the Chargers as they won on the road at Houston 29-23.
  • Spaeth, Matt - TE - Pittsburgh Steelers
    The Steelers' tight end had one reception for 12 yards as Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati 27-21 on Monday night.
  • Laurence Maroney - RB - Denver Broncos
    Maroney was inactive due to Denver's bye week.
  • Decker, Eric - WR - Denver Broncos
    Decker was inactive due to Denver's bye week.
  • Barber, Dominique - S - Houston Texans
    Barber was active but did not record any statistics as the Texans fell to the San Diego Chargers 29-23.

In addition to those who were on active rosters, two former Gophers spent last weekend on the practice squad for their respective NFL teams. Marcus Sherels is on the practice squad for the Minnesota Vikings, and Traye Simmons is with the San Diego Chargers' practice squad. Meanwhile, Mark Setterstrom remains on the physically unable to perform list of the St. Louis Rams, and Ben Hamilton is on the injured reserved list for the Seattle Seahawks after starting the first eight weeks on the offensive line.
