Gibbemeyer Named to All-Tournament Team

Senior middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer (St. Paul, Minn.) was named to the Seattle Regional's All-Tournament team. Gibbemeyer finished with 14 kills, two blocks and hit .400 (14-4-25) in Minnesota's three-set loss to seventh-seeded Cal.
In that match, Minnesota had leads of 24-23 in the first set, 23-18 in the second set and 23-21 in the third set. The Golden Bears went on to defeated host Washington in three sets in the regional final to advance to the Final Four. In three matches in the NCAA Tournament, Gibbemeyer 3.67 kps, 1.00 blps and hit .348.
It marked the second year in a row that Gibbemeyer was named to an All-Tournament team in the NCAA Regionals. Last year, Gibbemeyer joined Taylor Carico and Tabi Love (MVP) on the Minneapolis All-Region team. Gibbemeyer joins Paula Gentil (2003 & 04) and Erin Martin (2003 & 04) as one of only three Gopher players to receive NCAA Regional All-Tournament team honors in back-to-back seasons.
Gibbemeyer was joined on the All-Tournament team by Most Outstanding Player of Regional Carli Lloyd (Cal), Kindra Carlson (Washington), Shannon Hawari (California), Tarah Murrey (Cal), Bianca Rowland (Washington) and Jordan Wilberger (Nebraska).
