With a 3-2 overtime win over Sweden, Noora Räty and Finland earned a bronze medal at the Winter Olympics. Räty was the Finnish starting goalie during the Winter Games and helped Finland to their first medal since 1998. She re-joins the Gopher women’s hockey team this weekend as they face Minnesota State in the WCHA playoffs at Ridder Arena.

During the Winter Olympics, Räty saw every minute of action. Wearing her gold pads, blocker and glvoe at the Winter Games, she played in 302:33 minutes and had 114 saves in 129 shots faced. Against Canada earlier this week, Räty had a 45-save performance against Canada during the semifinals.
