OVERVIEW: Ranked as the No. 33 player in Louisiana by Rivals.com • listed as the No. 37 player in Louisiana by SuperPrep • rated as the No. 96 defensive tackle in the nation by ESPN and Scouts Inc. • earned a three-star ranking from Rivals and a two-star grade from Scout • good strength and size with the ability to clog gaps • does a nice job getting off the ball • good motor with a willingness to pursue the ball • solid pass rusher with the ability to collapse the pocket • has the hands and the power to drive a blocker back into the backfield.
HIGH SCHOOL: Currently attends Edna Karr High School • helped lead his team to an 11-2 record in 2009 • team advanced to the third round of the state playoffs • earned Class 4A all-state honors • two-time all-district selection • tallied 78 total tackles, including 28 tackles for loss and 10 sacks last season • recorded 60 tackles, 15 sacks and three forced fumbles as a junior in 2008 • coached by Jabbar Juluke.
RECRUITING: Selected Minnesota over offers from Arizona, Cincinnati, Colorado, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Southern Miss, Texas Tech and Virginia.
