OVERVIEW: Ranked as the No. 161 defensive end in the country by ESPN and Scouts Inc. • earned a three-star ranking from Rivals and a two-star rating from Scout • has the ability to be very good against the run • solid get-off ability • can come out of his stance with good pad level and create separation with his hands • does not shy away from contact • tough to move • good motor and solid speed • closes on the ball well.
HIGH SCHOOL: Currently attends Lake Dallas High School • helped lead his team to a 10-3 record in 2009 • team advanced to the second round of the Texas Class 4A state playoffs • two consecutive seasons on the All-District 5-4A first team • named to the 2009 Class 4A DFW All-Area team • tallied 46 total tackles to rank No. 5 on the team • also added five sacks, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble • also responsible for a safety • coached by Mike Young.
RECRUITING: Selected Minnesota over offers from Houston, Louisiana Tech, Portland State, UNLV and UTEP.
PERSONAL: Josh Tauaefa was born Nov. 22, 1991 • son of Chloe and Siolo Tauaefa • brother Isaac plays for UTEP.
