Basketball and Hockey Times Changed Feb. 19-20

2/3/2010 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball

The Big Ten Network has announced that Minnesota's home men's basketball game with Indiana will be played Sat., Feb. 20 at 7 p.m., which has affected the start times for the Gophers' men's hockey series with Colorado College.

The men's hockey series will now be played on Fri., Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. and Sat., Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. at Mariucci Arena. Both games were originally scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The changes were necessary to alleviate the traffic and parking issues with having both events at the same time on Saturday. Friday's hockey game was pushed up one hour since college hockey typically encourages a minimum of 21 hours between start times.

Friday's hockey game will be televised live by the Big Ten Network and Saturday's game will be shown live on Fox Sports North.

The men's basketball game is part of the Big Ten's wildcard weekend. CBS, ESPN and the Big Ten Network select the games they wish to broadcast three weeks prior and then place them in pre-determined time slots.

The events are part of a busy sports weekend on campus, though the start times of the other events are unaffected by the time changes. Below is a complete schedule of weekend home events:
