Minnesota Duluth- National Semifinal Notes
Team Notes:
- This is Minnesota Duluth's sixth Frozen Four Championship appearance. The Bulldogs are 4-1 in Frozen Four Championships with titles in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2008.
- Minnesota Duluth is making its seventh Frozen Four appearance, and its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance.
- The Bulldogs are 9-2 in Frozen Four and 13-4 in NCAA Tournament play.
- This is the sixth time that Minnesota Duluth has faced the Gophers this year. The Bulldogs are 3-2, including a 3-2 victory in the WCHA Tournament Championship game.
- Minnesota Duluth defeated the Gophers four times in a season for the second time in school history. The first time occurred in the 2002-03 season.
- Minnesota Duluth now has an eight-game winning streak, and has gone 18-1-1 in its last 20 games. This is the 15th time in that stretch that the Bulldogs have given up two goals or less in a game.
- The Bulldogs and Gophers met for the first time in an NCAA Tournament or Frozen Four game. The two teams faced each other in the 2000 AWCA National Semifinal on Mar. 24, 2000 in a game that Minnesota won 3-2.
- Minnesota Duluth won its 30th game of the year. The Bulldogs also did so in 2002-03 and 2007-08, both years where they won national titles.
Individual Notes:
- Laura Fridfinnson scored her 23rd goal of the season and had her 30th assist of the season.
- Emmanuelle Blais scored a pair of goals and had an assist on the night. It was her 30th and 31st goals of the season and her 33rd assist.
- Blais is now tied for ninth on the single-season goals list and is also 10th on the Minnesota Duluth single-season assists list.
- Blais also collected her 10th game-winning goal of the year.
- Goaltender Jennifer Harss moved into third place in goaltender wins with 27.
