Minnesota - National Semifinal Notes
Team Notes
* Minnesota is making its seventh appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four and owns a record of 5-6-1. The Golden Gophers captured NCAA titles in 2004 and 2005.
* Minnesota plays host to the NCAA Frozen Four for the third time but the first in Ridder Arena.
* This was the first meeting in NCAA action between the two WCHA rivals.
* This was the 51st meeting between Minnesota and Minnesota Duluth. The Gophers lead the series by a 26-21-5 margin. This was the sixth time the teams met in the 2009-10 season, with the Bulldogs holding a 4-2 advantage, including a 3-2 win over the Gophers in the WCHA Tournament championship game.
* Though Minnesota is the lower seed (No. 3) and technically the visitors on the scoreboard, the Gophers are 19-2-1 this season on their home ice in Ridder Arena.
* Minnesota trailed 1-0 after the first period. The Gophers are 4-5-1 when trailing after one period.
* Minnesota scored in the second period but Minnesota Duluth answered with two goals and led 3-1. Minnesota is 1-7-2 when trailing after two periods.

Individual Notes
* Sarah Erickson scored at 17:30 in the second period to close Minnesota to within 2-1. The goal is Erickson's 18th of the season and her first in NCAA Tournament play.
* Emily West was credited with an assist on Erickson's goal. West has 23 goals and a team-best 46 points for the season. She has been a part of every NCAA goal the Gophers have scored this season (three goals, two assists).
* West added a goal at 19:05 of the third period unassisted. It is her 23rd goal of the season. West has 14 multiple-point games this season
