The Minnesota women’s track & field team will be represented by three athletes who have garnered invitations to this weekend’s (March 12-13) NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Golden Gophers will be lead by All-American Alicia Rue, who earned national runner-up honors in the pole vault a year ago. Rue will be joined by junior pole vaulter Samantha Sonnenberg, who will be making her first NCAA appearance. The third Minnesota athlete headed to the NCAAs is senior Megan Duwell in the 5,000-meter run. Duwell will compete in her first track national meet but is a veteran of several NCAA Cross Country Championships.
