Minnesota Hosts Nebraska in Spring Match

The Minnesota volleyball team will host Nebraska on Saturday, Apr. 24 at 4 p.m. in its final match of the 2010 spring season.
Minnesota enters the match with Nebraska with a 7-2 spring record and is coming off a four-set victory over 2009 National Runner-up Texas on Apr. 10. The Cornhuskers are 1-0-1 in their spring season with a 2-2 tie at Arizona State and a five-set victory at home against Illinois on Apr. 17.
The Golden Gophers and Nebraska will both enter the 2010 season likely ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation. Minnesota returns nine letterwinners from last year's team that won 28 matches and advanced to the Final Four for the third time in school history. Included among those letterwinners are First-Team All-American middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer, Final Four All-Tournament honoree Hailey Cowles and NCAA Tournament Region MVP Tabitha Love.
