Minnesota Falls to Nebraska in Spring Match

The Minnesota volleyball team finished the spring season with a three-game loss to Nebraska by scores of 25-23, 26-24, 27-25 on Saturday, Apr. 24.

Nebraska won the fourth set 25-18 and the fifth set 15-12.

Minnesota was led by Tabitha Love who unofficially had 17 kills. Hailey Cowles also had 13 kills, while Lauren Gibbemeyer finished with 11 kills and five blocks.

The Golden Gophers finished the spring season 7-3. Minnesota won the Arizona State Tournament, the Iowa State Tournament and defeated Texas as part of its spring season.

Minnesota will open up the regular-season when it hosts the Gopher Invite on Aug. 27-28. The Golden Gophers will host Denver, Marquette and Stony Brook in that tournament. Minnesota returns nine letterwinners from last year's team that won 28 matches and advanced to the program's third Final Four.
