Minnesota junior Alessandra Ferrazzi earned her first career all-Big Ten women's tennis honor at Thursday's league banquet in Iowa City, Iowa.

Ferrazzi, a Brescia, Italy native, led the Gophers with 24 wins and became Minnesota's first all-Big Ten selection since Ashley Schellhas in 2007. Ferrazzi played the majority of the season at No. 1 singles and finished 24-15 overall in singles. She was 5-5 in Big Ten singles play for the season and seven of her 15 losses came to ranked players.

In doubles, Ferrazzi finished 21-17 while playing with seven of the Gophers' eight other players on the roster. She and Alexa Palen teamed for a 7-3 record against Big Ten competition at No. 1 doubles.

For her three-year career, Ferrazzi owns a 61-42 singles record and a 62-39 doubles mark.

In addition, Gophers' junior Peta Forsyth was named to the conference's all-sportsmanship team for the first time in her career.

Big Ten champion Michigan swept the conference's major awards as Denise Muresan was named the Athlete of the Year and Mimi Nguyen was the Freshman of the Year. Wolverines' coach Ronni Bernstein collected Coach of the Year honors.

The Gophers finished the season 10-14 overall and lost in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament to Wisconsin.
