Golden Gopher 2010 seniors Ashley Ellis-Milan and Brittany McCoy played in their first professional basketball game on Friday as members of the Minnesota Lynx. The Lynx dropped an 87-78 decision to the Chicago Sky in the Gangelhoff Center on the campus of Concordia University in St. Paul.

Ellis-Milan and McCoy, both of whom signed training camp contracts, saw extensive action in the game as the Lynx suited up just eight players due to player injury or not yet in camp after overseas seasons. Ellis-Milan, a St. Paul native, started the game for the Lynx.

Both ex-Gophers contributed five points in the game. Several of their 2009-10 U of M teammates were in the crowd.

The highly anticipated debut of another Gopher grad, Lindsay Whalen, comes Sunday when the Minnesota superstar is expected to practice for the first time with the Lynx.
