Riche' Helps Canada to FIBA U18 Bronze Medal

Incoming Golden Gopher freshman Micaella Riche’ helped the Canadian Junior National Team to a bronze medal at the FIBA Americas U18 Tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Canada downed Chile by a score of 81-42 in the bronze-medal game with Riche’ contributing three points and three rebounds in limited action. Riche’ injured an ankle in the first game of the tournament and was able to return to action in the semifinal, a 50-49 loss to Brazil. She tallied four rebounds versus Brazil but did not score. Riche’ scored eight points and pulled down five rebounds before being injured against Mexico. Overall, Canada went 4-1 in the tournament.
The other four members of Minnesota’s freshman class are already on campus taking summer classes. Riche’ will join them in the fall.
