MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota senior defender Jennie Clark has been named to the watch list for the 2010 Women's Hermann Trophy, presented annually to the top female player in NCAA Division I soccer by the Missouri Athletic Club

A 2008 SoccerBuzz All-American as a sophomore, Clark (Norwalk, Iowa) has been an instrumental member of Minnesota's defense since first arriving on campus. As a freshman, she was part of a young defensive corps that finished among the top of the Big Ten in goals allowed per game (1.16). That same group excelled the following year as the Gophers earned a piece of the Big Ten title. The Gophers listed the conference's top defense in 2008 while also setting school records for goals allowed (12) and shutouts (17). Individually, Clark earned SoccerBuzz Fourth Team All-America, First Team All-Big Ten and First-Team All-Great Lakes Region accolades. She found similar success last year, earning her second First Team All-Big Ten honor along with NSCAA First Team All-Region honors as the Gophers defense again ranked among the top of the Big Ten.

A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Clark enters the 2010 season with a streak of 62-consecutive starts dating back to Sept. 9, 2007.

The winner of the Hermann Trophy is selected by NCAA Division I coaches who are current members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
