Gophers Set to Host MYSA Weekend

The Minnesota women's soccer team is set to host the first of two MYSA weekends this Sunday (9/19) as the Golden Gophers host Illinois State at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium. As part of the Gophers efforts to spread the sport of soccer throughout the state of Minnesota, all youth soccer players will receive free admission to game against the when they wear their youth soccer jersey. Parents' tickets are just $1. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CST).

The Gophers will also be holding a food drive to support Second Harvest. Fans are invited to bring a non-perishable food item to the game for a chance to win prizes at halftime. As always, fans are invited to attend a post-game autograph session with the Golden Gophers following each home game.

The Gophers will continue the youth promotion next Sunday (9/26) when the team hosts its first Big Ten game of the season against Illinois. The game is also scheduled for a 1 p.m. (CST) start time.

The Minnesota Youth Soccer Association promotes the game of soccer for all youth in Minnesota. It promotes the importance of education, self-esteem, diversity and teamwork in a safe, fun environment, allowing players to develop to their fullest potential in soccer and in life.

MYSA Weekend Event Notice

What: All youth soccer players are invited to the Minnesota women's soccer game this Sunday against Illinois State and next Sunday against Illinois. Admission is free when players wear their youth soccer jersey. Parents' tickets are just $1.

Where: Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in St. Paul (on the corner of Cleveland and Larpentuer).

When: Sunday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 26. Both games are at 1 p.m. (CST).
