Gophers Take Down Loyola Marymount 7-2

The Gopher softball team picked up its second win of the weekend on Saturday, beating Loyola Marymount 7-2.
The Lions claimed an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Gophers replied with two of their own in the bottom of the inning. After claiming the 3-1 lead, they would never give it back. Scoring three runs in the first, two runs in the second, and two more in the fourth the Gophers tallied a total of seven runs on nine hits.
Kari Dorle and Alex Davis would each send one over for the wall for two 2-run home runs.
Moulton had an impressive performance allowing only two runs on seven hits and striking out thirteen batters.
The Gophers improve to 2-1 in the tournament and 2-5 overall. They will face Loyola Marymount again later today.
