WCHA FINAL FACEOFF Field Set

Tickets for the 2011 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF championship, set for March 4-5 at Ridder Arena, are on sale now through the University of Minnesota Ticket Office (612 624-8080, or 1-800-U-Gopher, or online at Gophersports.com).Three-game session tickets for the women's playoff championship tournament are available at three prices: $20 for a reserved seat, $18 for general admission, and $15 for seniors and youth (age 18 and under). Single session tickets, priced at $15, $12 and $8, will be available on the days of the semifinals and championship game.
The No. 1 seeded Badgers (32-2-2) will face-off against No. 4 seed North Dakota (20-12-3) in the playoff championship’s first semi-final match up at 4:07 pm CT on Friday. The second semi-final will have No. 2 seed Minnesota Duluth (22-7-3) going up against No. 3 seed Minnesota (25-8-2) at 7:07 pm CT. The WCHA FINAL FACEOFF championship game will be played on Saturday, March 5, at 7:07 pm CT.
At Eagles’ Nest in Verona, Wis., top-ranked and host Wisconsin ran its unbeaten streak to 22 games by sweeping St. Cloud State in two games in first round playoff action. Hilary Knight, Briana Decker and Meghan Decker combined for six goals and seven assists in last Friday’s series opener, a 9-3 UW victory. Knight had two goals in a series-clinching 5-1 victory on Saturday.
At AMSOIL Arena In Duluth, No. 6-ranked Minnesota Duluth blanked Minnesota State twice 3-0 and 5-0 to sweep that series 2-0. Elin Holmlov had two goals and senior goalie Kim Martin made 20 saves in the 3-0 victory Friday while sophomore goalie Jennifer Harss hade 25 stops in the series-clinching 5-0 shutout on Saturday.
At Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Jen Schoullis had two goals on Friday as No. 3 Minnesota beat Ohio State 4-2 and then Amanda Kessel had one goal, the game-winner with 3:09 left to play, and an assist as the Golden Gophers edged the Buckeyes 3-2 on Saturday to sweep the series, 2-0.
And at Purpur Arena in Grand Forks, 8th ranked North Dakota defeated Bemidji State in three games. On Sunday,Monique Lamoureux-Kolls netted the winner at 16:00 of overtime to give the Sioux a 3-2 (ot) victory. Bemidji State had forced a deciding third game with a 3-0 victory on Saturday as Zuzana Tomcikova made 22 saves and sophomore forward Sadie Lundquist had a goal and an assist. In game one of the series, North Dakota used two goals from Stephanie Roy to take a 3-2 decision from the Beavers last Friday.
