Coach Kill Says "Let's Play Hockey!"

Prior to each and every Minnesota Wild hockey game at the Xcel Energy Center, someone has the honor of leading the crowd in a chant of "Let's Play Hockey!" just before the puck drops.

Prior to the Wild's game with Montreal Sunday, University of Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill had the opportunity to don a Wild jersey and lead the chant.

Coach Kill was joined by Gregory Groejes, who was honored before the game for his role in fending off an attack on an Inver Grove Heights police officer back in January. Groejes received an autographed football from Coach Kill and stood with him on the Fox Sports North stage for the traditional "Let's Play Hockey!" chant.

Coach Kill took in the rest of the game as a guest of the Wild. The game may be one of the last few free moments in the next month or so for Kill. He will lead the Gophers into spring practice beginning Thursday. The 15-practice spring session will continue through April 23, the date of Minnesota's annual Spring Game at TCF Bank Stadium.
