Minnesota Goes 2-1 at ISU Spring Tournament

The Minnesota volleyball team went 2-1 in three matches at the Iowa State Tournament on Saturday, Mar. 26. The tournament was the Gophers first of the spring season.

Minnesota played three sets in each of the three matches on the day. The Gophers lost the first match to Northern Iowa 2-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-23), but bounced back to defeated Wayne State and Iowa State in three sets. Minnesota defeated the Warriors 20-25, 27-25, 25-20, and was also victorious over the host Cyclones 25-21, 14-25, 26-24.

The Gophers will play in the Wisconsin Spring Tournament in Madison, Wis. Minnesota will play in five matches that will be two sets up to 25 points. The Gophers will face Iowa on court three at 9 a.m., Michigan Tech on court two at 11 a.m., Wisconsin-Milwaukee on court two at 12 p.m. and Northern Illinois on court three at 3 p.m. Minnesota will be with those four teams in pool play and will play at either 4 or 5 p.m. in its final match depending upon their results in pool play.
