Peterson Earns Big Ten Weekly Award

Minnesota senior Ben Peterson was named the Big Ten Field Event Athlete of the Week for his performance at last weekend’s LSU Alumni Gold Invitational Peterson won the pole vault with a season-best height of 17 feet, 7 3/4 inches, a mark that tops the Big Ten and ranks in a tie for fifth nationally.

This is Peterson’s second Big Ten weekly award of the 2011 season. He earned his first award during the indoor season.
