Minnesota Wins Badger Spring Invitational

The Minnesota volleyball team defeated Wisconsin 2-1 in a three-set championship match by scores of 20-25, 25-17, 15-10 to win the Badger Spring Invitational Nicholas-Johnson Pavilion of the Kohl Center on Saturday, Apr. 2.
Minnesota went 2-0-2 in four two-set matches pool play to advance to the championship match. The Gophers swept Michigan Tech (25-15, 25-16) and Northern Illinois (25-15, 25-19), and split with Iowa (22-25, 25-12) and Wisconsin-Milwaukee (28-30, 25-10) to advance to the championship match.
Last week, the Gophers went 2-1 in the ISU Spring Tournament with victories over Iowa State and Wayne State, along with a loss to Northern Iowa.
Minnesota will wrap up the spring schedule at home when they host a tournament at the Sports Pavilion on Saturday, Apr. 16. That tournament will include Iowa, North Dakota, North Dakota State and Wisconsin.
