Former Minnesota baseball players Nick O'Shea and AJ Pettersen recently made their professional debuts, with O'Shea hitting a solo home run for his first Minor League hit in an 8-5 loss to Helena on Saturday.

O'Shea, who was drafted in the 24th round by the Cincinnati Reds in this year's Major League Baseball draft, made his professional debut for the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League on June 22. He went 0-for-3 and scored a run in that game versus Great Falls.

But, in his second game as a pro on Saturday at Helena, O'Shea led off the top of the third with a solo home run to left field. He later added a double to center to finish 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. O'Shea followed that performance by going 1-for-4 with a double on Sunday, making him 3-for-10 with two doubles and a home run over his first three games with Billings.
