Editor's Note: This is the second installment of a four-part series as Gophersports.com gets to know Gopher Hoops newcomers Joe Coleman, Andre Hollins, Andre Ingram & Julian Welch. An on-camera interview with Mike Grimm is also included.
Gophersports.com: What was the deciding factor to attend the University of Minnesota?
Andre Hollins: "There were several but definitely the opportunity to play for Tubby Smith and have that be in the Big Ten Conference. Also, the opportunity to attend the Carlson School of Business."
GS: What are your goals as you get ready for your freshman campaign?
Hollins: "My goals are to contribute as much as I can to the team and produce."
GS: You will have the opportunity to travel to many other universities. Which school(s) are you most looking forward to playing?
Hollins: "I am excited for every trip but I am looking forward to playing Wisconsin & Ohio State."
GS: Minnesota has rivalries with many schools. Which rivalry are you looking forward to participating in?
Hollins: "That would have to be Wisconsin. I have heard pleanty about that rivalry."
GS: Howard Pulley is over. How did your team do? Also, were you able to play with any of your new teammates?
Hollins: "We won our first playoff matchup and lost the following game. I was on the same team with Oto Osenieks, Joe Coleman and Chris Halvorsen."
GS: Do you have any pregame superstitions?
Hollins: "I try and take a nap before every game."
GS: Fast forward four years, what do you want you Gopher legacy to be?
Hollins: "I want to be remembered as a winner."
