What I'm Doing This Summer: Brianna Mastey

This is the fifth part of a summer series on GopherSports.com featuring reports written by members of the women's basketball team that detail some of the interesting things they're doing this summer. As summer nears an end, today's "What I'm Doing This Summer" feature is written by senior guard Brianna Mastey, who has been able to earn college credit while working in her favorite sport.
Hello, Gopher fans!! I have been very busy this summer. As some of you know, I am doing my internship for my Sport Management degree with the Minnesota Lynx. Many of you may have seen me on game days. Much of my summer has been consumed with working with them every day at practice and on their game days. This had been a great opportunity for me to see what it is like to work with a professional sports team, and it has been something that I have really enjoyed doing this summer. It is great to be around such great basketball players because I am able to learn a lot about the game from watching them. If you have not been to a game it is something you should do before the season is over. They are very exciting to watch!!
Besides working with the Lynx, I also took one class this summer. I also worked out during the week with the team for our daily workouts that went great. This summer has gone by way to fast and I cannot believe that we are already almost done with August. I have been able to spend a little time with my family this summer but it has been hard with work. We took a weekend trip up north to International Falls to see my aunt for a weekend. We also have a camping trip planned for the end of August that I am looking forward to. This is what I have been doing all summer. I can't wait for the season to start and see all our great fans!
