University of Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill was discharged from the hospital today and is now resting at home, according to Gopher football team physician Dr. Pat Smith. Dr. Smith said that Kill was released during the lunch hour Thursday.

"I'm pleased to report that Coach Kill has been discharged from care," said Dr. Smith. "He is in good spirits and eager to get back to work. He has no restrictions and is free to return to work when he feels up to it."

Smith was unable to state with certainty when Kill would return to work or whether he would coach at Saturday's game vs. Miami (Ohio), saying that it would be up to Kill.

Kill suffered a seizure late in the Golden Gophers' home season opener against New Mexico State at TCF Bank Stadium last Saturday and had been hospitalized since.

The Gophers continue their preparations to take on Miami (Ohio) this afternoon. Thursday practices are closed to the media and public. There is currently no planned media availability for any of the players or coaches, including Coach Kill.
