In the second episode of our new weekly video feature, "Get to Know Your Gophers," KFAN radio personality and Gopher Radio Network sideline reporter Justin Gaard sits down with junior Gopher linebacker (and fellow Edina native) Mike Rallis.

Watch the video for their whole conversation and tune in next week when we get to know another Gopher!

Justin Gaard: You've had Coach Kill around for a couple of months now, what's maybe one of your favorite Coach Kill sayings so far?
Mike Rallis: One that a lot of people point to is, "I hear what you're saying, but I'll trust what you do." Really, all that means is talk is kind of cheap-go out there and show it. That's really true in life and amongst our teammates, but also every team that we play. So we don't like to do a whole lot of talking. We just go show it.

JG: My favorite saying was when he told a player from Florida he was the slowest player ever to come out of the state of Florida. Anything else like that?
MR: He calls me "hippie" all the time. He'll find something unique about everyone and make fun of him a little bit, but it's all in good fun. At the end of the day, he's just trying to make us better.

JG: You've got the home opener this weekend against New Mexico State at TCF Bank Stadium. What's your favorite thing about playing at home?
MR: Just the fans being out there. They come out to support us every week no matter how the season's going. I'm looking forward to getting back in front of our fans. One of my favorite memories of all time is winning the pig there and the fans coming on the field, and being able to interact with them. I'm looking forward to get back in front of the fans.

JG: School starts this week. You are in the Carlson School of Management. It's no free lunch for you here getting that education. What's maybe the toughest class that you've had so far in the Carlson School of Management?
MR: I would say finance probably has been. Some of the other classes you can be more creative in-it's not exactly one right answer-but finance, there's only one right answer and you'd better get it or you're going to lose all the points. So that one was one that I had to study quite a bit for.
