Minnesota Picked No. 15 in Preseason Poll

U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) have tabbed the University of Minnesota of Minnesota Men’s Indoor Track and Field team as the No. 15 team in the country. Two-time defending NCAA Division I indoor track & field national champion Florida, sits atop the field.
Six Big Ten schools are in the preseason rankings with Ohio State at No. 4, newcomer Nebraska at No. 5 and Indiana sits at No. 8. Wisconsin comes in at No. 13, while Iowa is one spot behind the Gophers at No. 16.
The Gophers are coming off their third straight Big Ten Indoor Championship where they scored in 15 of the 18 events with multiple athletes contributing points in six events (pole vault, 600 meters, 800 meters, triple jump, weight throw and heptathlon).
Minnesota kicks off its season this weekend (Friday-Saturday) at the Holiday Inn Invitational in Lincoln, NE. The Gophers also host the Northwest Open this Saturday at the UM Fieldhouse.
