Senior tight end John Rabe was recently named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Football Team for District 6. The award honors the nation's top student athletes for their combined performance in athletics and in the classroom, and honorees are selected to the team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Rabe, who has 3.71 GPA and is majoring in Business and Marketing Education, has caught 11 passes this year for 116 yards. His four touchdowns rank second on the team and are the most by a Minnesota tight end since Matt Spaeth caught four each year from 2004-2006.

As a first-team all-district selection, Rabe advances to the Capital Once Academic All-America Team ballot. First team, second team and third team honorees will be selected later this month.
