Gophers Erase 2-0 Deficit, Top Wake Forest 5-2 | Gophers Roll Past N.C. State, Improve to 5-1

Hey ya'll! Thanks for checking out my blog!

This weekend the Gopher women's tennis team went to North Carolina. We left Friday morning at 6 a.m. White drag! But it was still awesome to see everyone and experience this trip together. Of course, on the first flight everyone fell right asleep. Once arriving in N.C., we decided to take the luggage carousel for a ride, which was totally entertaining. Gotta love airports!

We then began our journey to Wake Forest. Once arriving at Wake, we practiced and afterwards we felt great. We were so ready for the match. The following day was match day, which always pumps us up. I love the energy that all of the girls bring. It is such a great environment to be in. After a tough battle, we lost the doubles point, but Ty gave a speech we were back at it with singles. Wake's court set up is a lot different than ours, so I only got to really see D and Aria play. I was so proud of our side for pulling through with three wins. I was also extremely proud of Lex, Tash, and Yuls on their side for their fight and extreme effort. We couldn't have pulled out the win without the constant cheering and support of Freshie (Tereza) and Po. Of course, our wonderful coaches were amazing throughout the whole match.

After the match, we headed to Mellow Mushroom for some delicious food and fun times. At all of the matches we always have some sort of game to see if we win dessert. At Mellow Mushroom, we did this game which is kind of hard to describe and won dessert, which of course always pumps us up because everyone on our team LOVES food.

The two-hour journey began again and we drove back to N.C. State to take them down. The night before the match we threw a little dance party in mine and Po's room and Lex killed the warm up routine. After that, we went on Facebook for awhile and then it was off to bed because we needed our beauty sleep!

The next day we woke up and ate a great breakfast before heading to the courts. After losing the doubles point again, Ty cracked a joke and said we will work on doubles next week and to just win it with our singles--and that's exactly what we did. We dominated the scene with singles and all of the girls poured their hearts into the match. It was a tough battle but we had more fight and energy and we wanted the win. That is why we walked away with the W.

On a sad note, the weekend was over but our fun times are not! I can honestly say I have never met a better group of girls. We all get along so well and have had so many unforgettable moments. These girls will for sure be my friends for life. I am so excited for the rest of the season and am truly blessed to be here! Thanks for all of the support and love from the fans and most of all, thanks to my amazing coaches and my even more amazing teammates. I love ya'll so much.
