Full Speed Ahead
The Arkansas Invitational is the Golden Gophers' second meet of the outdoor season, but the coaches consider it to be the first "real" meet of the spring. The Aztec Invitational provided a chance for the Gophers to work off the rust, but this weekend's meet will give the coaches a better gauge of what to expect from their athletes the rest of the season.

New Places and Faces
This is the first time Minnesota has traveled to the Arkansas Invitational as a team. The Gophers last competed in Fayetteville during the 2009-10 season, but that was for the NCAA Indoor Championships. This weekend, they will have an opportunity to compete against southern schools they do not regularly face.

The Lineup
The meet starts Friday night with the hammer throw, an event DeAnne Hahn won last week with the fourth-best throw in school history, becoming the second-best performer after Liz Alabi. Most of the meet's events will take place on Saturday, alternating between the men and the women.

Current Gophers in the Top 10
Hahn is the most recent athlete to do so, but on this year's roster, there are several Gophers who have turned in some of the top 10 performances in school history during their careers. Their best top-10 performances are listed below.

Alena Brooks: 400m, first (53.55)
Nyoka Giles: 200m, fourth (23.80)
DeAnne Hahn: hammer, fourth (197-00, 60.04m)
Chimerem Okoroji: 100m, fourth (11.53)
Kylie Peterson: 100m, seventh (11.58)
Stephanie Price: 10,000m, fifth (34.02)
Todea-Kay Willis: long jump, first (21-1 1/2, 6.44m)
4x100m relay team of Willis, Giles, Okoroji, Brooks: tied for second (44.85)
4x400m relay team of Sharyn Dahl, Giles, Kelly Stalpes, Brooks: first (3:38.03)
