Gophers, Orange Selected for Primetime Television

Minnesota's home football game against Syracuse of the Big East Conference on Saturday, Sept. 22nd at TCF Bank Stadium has been set for a 7 p.m. (CT) kickoff and will air live on the Big Ten Network, Big Ten Conference officials announced today.
The matchup is one of 14 primetime television selections announced by the league office and will serve as the lone night game of the 2012 season at TCF Bank Stadium.
Minnesota's 2012 game vs. Syracuse concludes a two-tame, home-and-home series with the Orange. The Gophers defeated Syracuse in the 2009 season opener at the Carrier Dome, 23-20 in overtime.
All time, Minnesota and Syracuse have met on the gridiron three times, with the Gophers holding a 2-1 edge in the series.
Minnesota opens its 2012 football campaign on the road at UNLV on Thursday, August 30.
