Gophers Ranked No. 1 in USCHO.com Preseason Poll

The defending national champion Minnesota women's hockey team will begin the 2012-13 season ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com Division I Women's Preseason Poll.

The Golden Gophers received all 15 first-place votes. Wisconsin, the team Minnesota beat to win the 2012 title, sits in second. Cornell, Boston College, and North Dakota round out the top five.

Minnesota finished its championship run with a 34-5-2 record. The Gophers will open the 2012-13 season against Colgate on Sept. 28 and 29.
