PART ONE: Tubby Smith talks summer basketball with Mike Grimm
The University of Minnesota men's basketball program has dealt with injuries the last couple of seasons and two players - senior Trevor Mbakwe and sophomore Maurice Walker - will be trying to make it all the back after suffering knee injuries.
Mbakwe missed all but seven games last season after suffering the injury on Nov. 27 against Dayton in the championship game of the Old Spice Classic. He was leading the Gophers in scoring (14.0) and rebounding (9.1).
Walker has been out since Dec. 23, 2010, hurting his knee in the first half against South Dakota State. At the time he was holding averages of 3.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 9.6 minutes per game as a freshman.
