USCHO.com Poll | USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's hockey team maintained the No. 1 ranking in this week's USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine national polls.

The USCHO.com poll ranks the Gophers number one with 150 points and all 15 first place votes. No. 2 Boston College (1-0-0) and No. 3 Clarkson (3-0-0) round out the top three, while Cornell (0-0-0) and Wisconsin (2-0-0) are tied for fourth.

In the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, the Gophers received 18 of 19 first-place votes. No. 3 Clarkson was the only other school to receive a first-place vote. Minnesota has been the top-ranked team in each of the last 29 polls dating back to March 20, 2012.

The Western Collegiate Hockey Association leads all conferences in both polls with five teams in the USCHO.com poll (No. 1 Minnesota, No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 6 North Dakota, No. 9 Minnesota Duluth and No. 10 Ohio State) and four teams in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll (No. 1 Minnesota, No. 4 North Dakota, No. 6 Wisconsin and No. 10 Minnesota Duluth).

In a battle of ranked opponents, No. 1 Minnesota hosts No. 4/6 Wisconsin in its home-opening series this weekend. Puck drop is set for 6:07 p.m. Friday and 4:07 p.m. Saturday.
