GAME DAY TID-BITS
• Minnesota and South Dakota State will be facing off on Tuesday evening for the ninth-straight season. The Gophers have not played a non-conference opponent that many consecutive seasons since matching up against Drake 10-straight seasons from 1962-71.
• Minnesota also faced Carleton College 10-straight seasons from 1931-40 and played Nebraska 24 times in a 14-year span from 1902-1915. The Gophers did face the University of Chicago every season from 1905-1913 but that was when Chicago was a member of the B1G Conference.
• Minnesota had six players finish Saturday's game against New Orleans in double-figures - Andre Hollins (18), Austin Hollins (13), DeAndre Mathieu (11), Mo Walker (11), Joey King (10) & Oto Osenieks (10). It was the first time since Dec. 23, 2009 against South Dakota State - Blake Hoffarber (16), Lawrence Westbrook (12), Devoe Joseph (11), Paul Carter (10), Damian Johnson (10), Al Nolen (10) - that a Gopher team finished with six double-digit scorers.
• Dre Hollins led the team with 18 points against New Orleans, his 46th career game in double-figures. Austin Hollins finished with 13 points and has now scored in double-figures in nine of the team's 10 games this season and 53 times in his career. Both players should reach the 1,000 point plateau soon, as Dre heads into the game against SDSU with 986 career points while Austin has 983 career points.
• The Golden Gopher program has not had a pair of players reach the 1,000-point plateau in the same season since the trio of Randy Carter, Voshon Lenard and Arriel McDonald did so during the 1993-94 season.
