MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Heavy, wet snow that has fallen across the Twin Cities in the past day has forced Wednesday’s non-conference softball doubleheader between Minnesota and Iowa State to be moved to Ames, Iowa.
The Gophers (26-15, 9-5 Big Ten) and Cyclones (19-24, 4-8 Big 12) will play a doubleheader at Iowa State’s Cyclone Softball Complex, with the first game slated to start at 2:00 p.m. CT.
The decision was made because it was deemed the playing surface at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium was unsuitable for play. More than a foot of snow has fallen in the Twin Cities over the past week, which has saturated the ground.
Fans with tickets to the ISU doubleheader will be able to redeem those tickets for any of Minnesota’s remaining home games this season.
