University of Minnesota volleyball head coach Hugh McCutcheon returns to the USA Volleyball men's circuit this weekend, serving as a consultant.

The United States competes in the Federal International Volleyball's World League against France, June 14-15, at the Tulsa Convention Center Arena in Tulsa, Okla. McCutcheon joins head coach John Speraw and assistant coaches Matt Fuerbringer and Mike Sealy.

The United States, ranked fifth in the world, faced Argentina in Wichita, Kan., June 7-8 and split action. The Tulsa matches will be the second United States World League events as the team will go on to Reno, Nev., and play Bulgaria, June 28-29. It then travels to Poland on July 5 and 7 and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), July 13-14.

Before McCutcheon was Minnesota's volleyball coach, he served as the head coach in both the U.S. women's and men's programs. Prior to taking the U.S. women's team to a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics, McCutcheon led the U.S. men's team to a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. McCutcheon and Team USA went undefeated in Beijing to claim its third Olympic Games gold medal and its first podium finish since 1992. He compiled a 107-33 record in four years with the U.S. Men's National Team program.
