TEAM NOTES
--Tonight's game was the 132nd all-time meeting between Minnesota and Ohio State, with the Buckeyes holding an 82-50 lead in the series. The win for the Gophers snapped a six-game losing streak against Ohio State, including a two-game streak in Minneapolis.
--Minnesota holds a slim 34-31 lead in the 65 games that have been played versus the Buckeyes in Minneapolis.
--It marked the second game this season where the Gophers were tied at the half, and Minnesota has won both games. --Tonight's game was Minnesota's third this season against a nationally-ranked opponent. Since the start of the 2012-13 season, the Gophers are 6-8 against teams in the Top 25.
--The Williams Arena crowd of 14,625 was Minnesota's first sellout this season. --Minnesota, which leads the Big Ten in steals per game, finished with its second-highest steals total of the season with 12.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
--Junior center Elliott Eliason recorded his sixth double-double of the season (and career), including his third in Big Ten play. Eliason had eight points and six rebounds at the half, and he finished by tying his career-high with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
--Junior guard DeAndre Mathieu led the Gophers with 13 points and five assists, while tying for team-high honors with three steals. Mathieu made 5-of-8 field goals, and also added four rebounds.
--Mathieu finished with more points, rebounds, assists and steals than Ohio State All-America guard Aaron Craft, who had seven points, four assists, one steal and no rebounds.
--Junior forward Oto Oseniecks had eight points and four rebounds.
--Junior guard Andre Hollins reached double-figures for the 15th time this season (53rd career) with 10 points, while also grabbing six boards and tying for team-best honors with three steals.
