MINNEAPOLIS - Two Gopher women's hockey players have been named Western Collegiate Hockey Association Players of the Week after Minnesota swept then top-ranked Wisconsin on the road last weekend. Sophomore Dani Cameranesi is the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week, and junior Amanda Leveille is the Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Cameranesi led the Gophers with four points on three goals and one assist on the road in Minnesota's road sweep over the Badgers. She scored a natural hat trick in Friday's 4-1 win and assisted on the overtime game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 win. Cameranesi was on the ice for five of Minnesota's six goals in the series and registered 14 shots on goal and two blocked shots.

After scoring her first collegiate hat trick in Friday's win, Cameranesi set up Rachel Ramsey's overtime game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 win. Through six games, the Plymouth, Minn., native ranks second on the team and is tied for second in the league with 10 points (6g-4a). She is also second in the nation with six goals.

Meanwhile, Leveille made a career-high 40 saves in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over Wisconsin after making 23 saves in Friday's 4-1 win. In the road series sweep over the Badgers, Leveille made a career-best 63 saves on 65 shots for a .969 save percentage.

Leveille's 23-save effort in Friday's win included holding the Badgers scoreless on six power plays. Saturday saw Leveille make a career-high 40 saves on 41 shots as Wisconsin outshot Minnesota 41-35 for the game. The Kingston, Ontario, native currently ranks third in the WCHA with a .952 save percentage and a 1.36 goals against average.

No. 1 Minnesota (5-0-1, 3-0-1-0) returns home to host North Dakota (4-2-0, 3-1-0-0 WCHA) this weekend. Puck drop between the Gophers and UND is set for 7 p.m. CT Friday and 4 p.m. CT Saturday.
