NIT Season Tip-Off Schedule Announced

WKU, out of Conference USA, is coming off a 20-12 season a year ago and a second place finish in the Sun Belt Conference. Franklin Pierce is a member of the Division II Northeast 10, with the Ravens also posting a 20-win season in 2013-14 and a second-place conference finish.
The action shifts to New York City the following week, as Minnesota is scheduled to face St. John’s on Wednesday, November 26 at 6 p.m. central at Madison Square Garden. That contest, televised live on ESPNU, is the first of two semifinal games that night, with Gonzaga and Georgia squaring off immediately following.
The Red Storm finished last season with a 20-13 record and an NIT appearance, while placing tied for third in the BIG EAST regular season standings.
Both semifinal winners will meet on Friday in the championship at 6 p.m. Central (ESPN2), while the consolation game will take place at 3:30 p.m. (ESPNU).
Minnesota is returning to the site of its 2014 NIT Championship, where it defeated Florida State and SMU last April to claim the tournament title. The Gophers open the 2014-15 season on Friday, November 14, as they travel to Puerto Rico to face Louisville in the Armed Forces Classic, taking place at Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen.

The University of Minnesota’s schedule has been set with the announcement of the 2014 NIT Season Tip-Off this afternoon. The Gophers will play two home games at Williams Arena with two games to follow at Madison Square Garden.
Minnesota hosts Western Kentucky on Tuesday, November 18 at 7 p.m. central time. That game will be broadcast live on ESPN3. Two days later, the Gophers will host Franklin Pierce University for a 7 p.m. contest at the Barn.
