Team / Series Notes
• Today's game was the 174th all-time meeting in men's basketball between Minnesota and Illinois, with the Gophers trailing 111-63 in the series (not counting vacated games). The series is now tied, 43-43, in games played in Minneapolis.
• Today's win snapped a two-game losing streak versus the Illini at The Barn. Minnesota's last home win against Illinois had been a 77-72 overtime victory against the Illini on Jan. 28, 2012.
• Minnesota recorded its second straight Big Ten win at Williams Arena, and improved to 11-2 at home this season.
• Head coach Richard Pitino's record at Minnesota improved to 38-21, while his three-year overall record now stands at 56-35.
• Coach Pitino's record is 1-1 against Illinois, and he is now 11-17 versus teams from the Big Ten.
• The Gophers, who entered the game ranked second nationally in steals per game (10.0) and eighth nationally in assists (17.5), came up with six steals and 18 assists in the win versus the Illini.
• Three Minnesota players reached double figures for points, and eight of the 10 players who played in the game for the Gophers scored points.
• The Gophers made 9-of-20 (.450) three-pointers, including 6-of-14 in the first half, and have had six or more treys made in 19 of the past 20 games.

Individual Notes
• Senior guard Andre Hollins had a game-high 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-7 three-pointers. Hollins also had five assists and tied his career-high with two blocked shots. It marks his sixth game this season (27th career) with 20 or more points in a game.
• Hollins has scored 80 points (26.7 ppg) over his past three games. He has made 27-of-49 (.551) field goals in those games, which includes 16-of-26 (.615) three-pointers.
• Hollins, who currently ranks seventh on Minnesota's all-time scoring list, moved past 1,600 career points on Saturday. He now has 1,613 career points, and needs two points to pass Quincy Lewis (1996-99) for sixth place.
• Junior guard Carlos Morris had 16 points, including 13 in the first half. Morris made 4-of-4 field goals, including all three treys he attempted, to finish in double-figures for the 14th time this season.
• Freshman guard Nate Mason had 10 points, making 7-of-8 at the free throw line, and dished out a team-best six assists in his fourth career start.
• Senior forward Maurice Walker recorded his second career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, while adding a team-high three steals. It was Walker's 14th double-digit scoring game this season (25th career), and just his third career game with 10 or more boards.
• Senior guard DeAndre Mathieu had five points, three assists and a pair of rebounds.
• Junior forward Joey King helped the Gophers enjoy a 38-30 edge in rebounding, as he grabbed seven boards to go along with three assists. The rebounding total was King's second-highest this season.
