Gophers in the NFL: Week 6

Week 6 kicked off Thursday night with defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman and the Atlanta Falcons taking on the New Orleans Saints. Hageman made his presence felt on the defensive line, recording two solo tackles and one assist. The Falcons fell to the Saints, 31-21.

Former Mackey award-winning tight end Matt Spaeth played on special teams for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Arizona Cardinals. The Steelers went on to beat the Cardinals, 25-13.

Rookie tight end Maxx Williams played a significant role on the Baltimore Ravens offense against the San Francisco 49ers. The former Gopher hauled in four receptions for 24 yards as the Ravens fell to the 49ers, 25-20.

Punt return specialist Marcus Sherels and the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Kansas City Chiefs. Sherels returned two punts for seven yards as the Vikings defeated the Chiefs, 16-10.

Minnesota's all-time leading receiver Eric Decker enjoyed a good statistical day as the New York Jets took on Washington. The veteran receiver recorded four catches for 59 yards and one touchdown. New York beat Washington, 34-20.

Rookie running back David Cobb of the Tennessee Titans is still nursing a calf injury. He is on the injured reserve/designated to return list. He is eligible to return week 8.

Former Minnesota quarterback and Buffalo Bills tight end Marqueis Gray broke his forearm in week 4. He is now on injured reserve.

Damien Wilson and the Dallas Cowboys were on a bye.
