GOPHERS RETURN HOME TO FACE INDIANA
After being on the road for a majority of the first half of the season, the Golden Gophers are home for the next four matches and seven of 10 remaining in the regular season. Minnesota hosts Indiana and No. 19 Purdue, Oct. 28 and Nov. 1 at the Sports Pavilion. The match against the Hoosiers is set for 7 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. tilt against the Boilermakers, Nov. 1.

ON THE DOCKET
Minnesota stays at home the next weekend as it hosts the Michigan State Spartans and Michigan, Nov. 6-7. Both matches will held at the Sports Pavilion and slated for 7 p.m. starts.
ABOUT INDIANA
Indiana enters the week with a 13-9 overall record and a 3-7 mark within Big Ten play. After earning wins against Maryland and Rutgers, the Hoosiers dropped five-straight before defeating Northwestern, 3-0, last weekend. Amelia Anderson leads the team with 306 kills to average 3.73 kills per set. She is followed by Allison Hammond with 162 kills (2.75 kps) and Awele Nwaeze with 158 (2.29 kps). Taylor Lebo has a team-high 21 aces, while Megan Tallman has 705 assists. Courtney Harnish holds 278 digs this season.
ALL TIME SERIES & LAST TIME
Minnesota is 51-16 all time against Indiana, dating back to 1975. The Gophers and Hoosiers won a match against each other, both taking one on their home court last year. Last time at the Sports Pavilion, Minnesota won, 3-0.
Hannah Tapp NAMED NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hannah Tapp was named the National Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). This is Minnesota's first AVCA National Player of the Week since 2008 when Lauren Gibbemeyer (2007-10) received the award.
Tapp helped the Gophers to back-to-back road wins over No. 3 Nebraska and Iowa last weekend. Over the course of the weekend, Tapp had 24 kills to average 3.43 per set, all while hitting .444. Last Friday against the No. 3 Huskers, Tapp had a career-high 17 kills, while she committed just three errors in 28 attempts and hit .500. She also added four block assists. On Saturday, Tapp followed with a seven-kill performance in 17 attempts and had just one error in the three-set win over Iowa. Tapp also added four block assists and two digs. On the season, the junior has played in 71 sets and established 179 kills.
TAPP; SELIGER-SWENSON RECEIVES WEEKLY B1G HONORS
Hannah Tapp and Samantha Seliger-Swenson both received Big Ten weekly honors, announced Monday from the league office. Tapp was named a Co-Player of the Week, while Seliger-Swenson garnered both setter of the week and co-freshman of the week. It is Tapp's first Big Ten Player of the Week honor and sixth for Seliger-Swenson this year.
Seliger-Swenson had 94 assists over the weekend to help the Gophers to back-to-back road wins at Nebraska and at Iowa. Against the Huskers, Seliger-Swenson added 54 assists (13.4 per set), 14 digs, a solo block and two block assists. The 54 assist marked the most for her in a four-set match this season and third-highest for her in her young Gopher career. She followed with a 40-assist performance, which tied her 3-set career best in the win over Iowa. As she led the Gophers to a .324 hitting clip against Iowa, Seliger-Swenson also had six digs and two block assists.
GOPHERS RANK SIXTH IN RPI
In the last NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) ranks, the Golden Gophers hold the sixth-best ranking in the nation. The RPI is one of the tools used by the NCAA Selection Committee to evaluate teams for the post season. In the top 10 alone, four hail from the Big Ten Conference in Ohio State (4) Gophers (6), Nebraska (7) and Penn State (8). Along with Big Ten teams ranked high in the RPI, Minnesota also competed against Stanford (12), Louisville (18) and North Carolina (32) in the non-conference season.
LAST WEEKEND'S RECAPS
Minnesota earned a 3-1 win over Nebraska, in Lincoln, Neb. With the win, the Golden Gophers took sole possession of first place in the Big Ten. Minnesota had four individuals with double-digit kills. Hannah Tapp hit .500 and had 17 kills, while Daly Santana had 23 kills and 72 swings. Sarah Wilhite had 11 kills, followed by Molly Lohman with 10 and hit .429. Dalianliz Rosado had a match-high and tied a career-high 27 digs. Samantha Seliger-Swenson had 54 assists. Despite being out hit .253 to .240 and outblocked 16-11, the Gophers held a narrow 83-81 dig advantage and a 71-67 kill lead.
Minnesota then earned a 3-0 win over Iowa, Saturday, in Iowa City, Iowa. The Golden Gophers won 25-17, 25-15, 27-25. As a team, the Gophers hit .324 to Iowa's .147 and out blocked the Hawkeyes, 10-2. Daly Santana had 13 kills in 24 attempts to hit .458. Sarah Wilhite had 11 kills and hit .355, while Hannah Tapp and Molly Lohman each hit .353 in the match. Samantha Seliger-Swenson had a match-high 40 assists, and Dalianliz Rosado have 10 digs.
DID YOU KNOW?
With the win in Lincoln, it marked the first time the Golden Gophers defeated the Huskers on their home court since October of 1980 when it was the AIAW era. The win over No. 3 Nebraska also tied the Gopher record for highest ranked opponent win, which previously was Oct. 29, 2011.
GOPHERS RANKED NO. 4
Minnesota jumped from No. 9 to No. 4 in the recent American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Southern California is undefeated and ranked No. 1, followed by Texas (2), Penn State (3) and Minnesota (4). Also ranked in the top 25 are Big Ten foes Nebraska (9), Ohio State (11), Wisconsin (12), Purdue (17), Illinois (21) and Michigan (25). Michigan State is also receiving votes. The No. 4 ranking is the highest for the Golden Gophers since the 2009 season.
WHERE THEY RANK
Minnesota ranks high within a few NCAA categories. The Gophers rank 17th in blocks per set (2.85). Individually, Paige Tapp ranks 30th nationally in blocks per set (1.34), while Daly Santana ranks 15th in kills per set (4.50) and 18th in points per set (5.02). Among league leaders, Santana leads the pack in kills per set, while Tapp ranks third in the league in blocks per set. Samantha Seliger-Swenson averages 11.26 assists per set, good enough for third in the Big Ten.
