Murray To Play In Senior Bowl

Eric Murray has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl. The game will take place on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.

Murray's participation will mark the third straight year that Minnesota will be represented in the Senior Bowl. He follows David Cobb of the Tennessee Titans who participated last season and Ra'Shede Hageman of the Atlanta Falcons who was at the Senior Bowl in 2014. Murray is Minnesota's 38th Senior Bowl selection overall.

Murray is a three-year starter for the Gophers and is Minnesota's lockdown corner. This year he has one interception and leads the team with six pass breakups and three forced fumbles. Murray is fifth on the team with 57 tackles and also has 3.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack on the year.

Murray has played in 50 career games and has 183 tackles and 6.5 tackles-for-loss. He has two interceptions and 23 pass breakups, while he has also forced three fumbles, recovered three fumbles and blocked two kicks.

The Senior Bowl splits invitees into North and South rosters. The game will kick off at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., at 1:30 p.m. CT. It will air live on NFL Network.
