With less than one month left of the fall semester we are catching up with some of the Gophers the next couple months before we get into the heart of the spring season. This week we caught up with sophomore pitcher Kylie Stober.
Gopher Sports: How has the semester gone for you so far? How do you feel fall ball went?
Kylie Stober: The semester has been overall really good for me. I have been learning a lot about myself as a person and a player. I think that fall ball went really well. We learned the things that we need to get better at and we have been working hard at them in practice.
GS: What did you do over Thanksgiving?
KS: For Thanksgiving I got to go home to Lakeville. I spent time with my family, two best friends and ate a lot of food.
GS: Celebrity crush?
KS: My celebrity crush is J. Cole
GS: What is one thing you could not live without and why?
KS: One thing I cannot live without is makeup because I love doing my eyebrows and I just overall feel better when I have my makeup all done up.
GS: Who on the team would you partner up with in a Hunger Games type setting and why?
KS: The person I would team up with on the hunger games is Hannah Evavold because we work really well together and she is really good at motivating me to keep going when things get tough.
GS: As just a freshman you went 8-2 on the mound last season. What are you looking to build on this season and how can you help out the team?
KS: I am really working on hitting better spots with my pitches. I felt like I was a little wild last year and struggled hitting spots. I have been working on my mental toughness on the mound and being as competitive as I can be during games and practices. I have also been working on my hitting skills during the fall and offseason. I am hoping to contribute to the team with my bat and my pitching this year.
GS: What are you most looking forward to this season?
KS: I am most looking forward to getting to play with these girls in the spring. We have been putting a lot of work in this fall and winter this far and we look strong. I am also really excited to get to go to other places in the Big Ten to see other fields and be able to get back into our team chemistry on and off the field.
